Lobo
Graphic Identity and Editorial Design / 2025
Lobo is a short film written and directed by Alan Maldonado, a story for children that approaches bullying with tenderness, humor, and a strong sense of time and place. Set during a family Christmas posada, it follows Lobo, a 7-year-old boy who is mute and often overlooked. When his brother Rolando steals a gift he has just received, a Polly Pocket, Lobo looks for a way to defend what matters to him and recover what is his, using the few communication tools he has.
I designed the film’s graphic identity and key editorial elements, building the visual language from a central narrative detail: Lobo’s notebook, the place where he communicates and processes the world. The identity draws from that handwritten, imperfect, childlike texture, emulating his markings and rhythm to keep the design close to his point of view. In parallel, I designed the end credits and additional post-production graphic assets using a more restrained editorial system focused on clarity and readability, while still staying consistent with the film’s tone. I also designed the funding dossier and presentation materials used for the director’s grant application, translating the project’s tone and references into a cohesive visual package.
